Last month, on the 5th of August, Tanya and Karen participated in the Rotary event for scholarship recipients in Japan, called Yoneyama World Reunion, attended by all the current and previous students and their friends and families.
Anyone among the former Rotary members who wished to show their activities or projects could take a poster with all the necessary information to exhibit during the event. As a Rotary former scholar, Tanya was invited to the event, and Karen joined to represent Active Life.
Tanya and Karen were there explaining our organization’s activities with a fantastic poster in Japanese. Many people asked them about Active Life’s different tasks. One of the most popular among the participants was our teaching project, Athena Languages. Another one that caught attendees’ interest was the Social Circus, a cooperation project with Ecuador that profoundly impacts young, vulnerable people.
Other former scholars, Japanese and foreigners, showed their businesses and projects during the event. It was an excellent opportunity to make contact with other people with similar interests in building a better future together.
