JLPT APPLYING SEASON HAS STARTED

The second Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) of the year will be held on December 1st. The application season in Japan has started, and it will last until September 12th, at 17:00, Japan time.

To apply, you must create an account on the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) website: https://info.jees-jlpt.jp/, and create an account by clicking on Acquisition of MyJLPT. You’ll have to follow the instructions and fill in your personal information. Keep in mind that you cannot change the test you selected during the application process, so be sure about the level you want to be examined for. Also, you need a picture, but you can opt to take one in the moment with your smartphone or laptop camera. As for the payment, you have different methods to choose from to pay the 7500 yen fee.

After paying, you are going to receive a confirmation email immediately. For the day of the test, you will need a document that will arrive by post mail to the address you provided on the application around November 15th. This is important because you will have all the information you need about the location and what you need to take with you for the test.

The JLPT is held once or twice a year around the world. In Japan, there are two dates to take it, one is the first Sunday of July and the other is the first Sunday of December, each application period its open around three months in advance. This test started in 1984 to evaluate the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers, offered by the Japan Foundation and the JEES, with 7000 examinees. As for the year 2023, more than one million examinees took the test in 92 countries, which makes the JLPT the more reliable test to evaluate your Japanese skills in vocabulary, grammar, listening, and reading.

If you need help on studying, how to apply, how to pay for the test, or anything related to the JLPT, don’t hesitate to contact us, we have special JLPT courses for all levels and we can advise you on which one to choose.

One more important thing:
