As part of the summer plan, Active Life participated in an exchange program between two international schools located in Tsukuba and Joso. The main objective was to share different languages and cultures, learn about animals, exercise, and have fun.
The program started in the zoo, where students between 7 and 10 years old had the experience of feeding llamas and horses and seeing other animals like monkeys, rabbits, peacocks, and turtles. Another interesting activity was a fishing demonstration, which some kids tried. In the end, they enjoyed swimming and playing.
Although English was the main language everybody tried to use and practice, the kids participating were from Brazil, Japan, Ecuador, Nepal, Bangladesh, the United States, and Italy, so they were exposed to a variety of languages.
In Active Life, we promote understanding between cultures. We strongly believe that tolerance and harmony between people start with appreciating each other and sharing our uniqueness. Which is a principle we need to learn since young ages, like the students who attended this activity.
